At first glance, the ministry of Everett Gospel Mission may look simple. After all, we’ve been providing food and shelter to homeless people in Snohomish County for 50 years now. But that’s not what it’s all about, is it?
At Everett Gospel Mission, we’re all about change. While emergency food and shelter is a critical need, it’s only the first of many “pathways to change” that we provide. Our real goal is to provide dignified opportunities for those who have been defeated by circumstance, and offer them deep and lasting change that truly improves their quality of life.
We offer these services to everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of their beliefs, because that’s what Christ has called us to do. And during all our years one thing has never changed - our commitment to honor the Lord by helping those among us who are most in need (Proverbs 14:31). By doing this, we hope that each person will discover the transforming power of Christ’s love.
The reasons for becoming homeless are many and complex; job loss, poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, mental illness, broken relationships. These are just a few of the issues that can lead to being homeless. The answers to helping restore lives are just as complex, and we can’t do it alone.
Because you’re visiting our website – maybe for the first time—I’m guessing that you care about these same issues (actually, were talking about people, aren’t we? – not issues).
Whether it includes volunteer opportunities, becoming an advocate, offering financial help or other ideas you may have, I’d like to invite you let Everett Gospel Mission help you with your desire to reach out to the poor and disenfranchised of our community.
Come on in, look around, and see what we’re about. Our door is always open! And then, let us know how we can partner with you to offer the hope of Christ to those who have lost hope.
Together we can restore that hope and dignity for those in need among us.
