We made it through the big Easter celebration. What a great day!
A lot of people found out what the Resurrection is really all about, and their lives may never be the same because of the love of Christ they’ve experienced firsthand here at the Mission.
But after a big event like Easter, the work really just begins. First, supplies need to be replenished. Since the recession, donations of gifts in kind have really dropped, leaving our shelves bare. After the big crowds at Thanksgiving, Christmas and now Easter, we really need to restock.
Then there’s the maintenance and repairs we’ve been putting off, and we can’t wait any longer.
Finally, there are all the people who came to us during the Easter season who decided to stay with us and change their lives. We need to provide them food, shelter and life-changing services that help people get back on their feet.
It won’t be easy to regroup while still providing a safety net of last resort for those in greatest need. But our community is a community that cares about the poor and needy. I have faith God will provide. And I am looking forward to all the people we can help when He does!
