An Easter Call to Action

by Kris Munroe | Mar 20, 2012

I love the fact that Easter arrives in the spring! The trees and flowers bud, the birds are nesting, bunnies and fawns start popping up in our gardens. The sun warms the earth after our long, wet winter.

All the while, Easter is assuring us that there is hope for the future. For our guests, the promise of the Resurrection is that the dark storms of life and frozen hope won’t last forever. For each person who comes to our door, Jesus’ triumph over death signifies springtime in our spiritual lives.

Those of us who have already experienced a fresh start in Christ are called to offer that same hope to those still trapped in a tomb of hunger, homelessness and despair.

You and I can be a light for those who are too oppressed to find their way out of darkness on their own. Whether it’s to offer a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, a good, hot meal, a smile, an encouraging word, or even a job, even the smallest act of kindness can be the tipping point for someone who has lost all hope. You can create the trust needed that can lead to faith in God.

There are so many people to help. So many are ready for the great news that they can “rise again.” By partnering with us at Everett Gospel Mission, you can use your time, talents, financial resources and even the extra food in your pantry to help turn lives around.

You don’t have to do it on your own or reinvent the wheel. Just plug into what God is doing right here. And bring as many friends as you can!

Every bit helps.

Right now our greatest need is for meals.

You can provide 10 for just $20.50 here.

But we also need volunteersfood and hygiene supplies and your prayers, too.

Thanks for all your support. And Happy Easter!
