From the Desk of John Hull

“Together, we can alleviate poverty, impact people’s lives and share God’s love.” John Hull, Everett Gospel Mission CEO

It would be easy to think that the Mission just serves meals and gives people a place to sleep. Those two things are extremely important, but they’re just part of what we do. Those meals or safe nights of shelter is often the start of a relationship that leads to much more.

When someone is able to break free from poverty or addiction, plates of food and comfortable beds were definitely a part of it. But so were recovery program classes, transportation to medical appointments, assistance with government documents, job search help and a whole lot of relationships.

It’s all about relationships

One of my favorite things about the Mission is the focus on building relationships—among our staff, with community partners and the people we serve. People change here every day, and good, caring relationships are a big reason why.

Support from generous friends like you allows the caring, hard-working team at the Mission to treat every person who walks through our doors with compassion, dignity and respect. All while declaring and demonstrating Jesus’ love through our actions and services.

We’re a community

I’m blessed to work with amazing and talented people, but even the Mission can’t do this work alone.

Volunteers offering their time and skills are vital to supporting the everyday work at the Mission and helping people change here.

Come down, see what we’re about, and I bet you’ll find a place where you can fit in and make an impact.

Grace and peace,
John Hull
