Straight from the Heart
A LETTER FROM THE CEO
Unfortunately, most people think that the path to experiencing homelessness starts with a series of bad choices. But you and I both know there are many pathways to homelessness. Sandra’s story is an example of the “gray tsunami” that’s occurring in our country.
More and more, senior citizens are outliving their savings. They never expected to find themselves experiencing homelessness. In fact, they worked hard all their lives and have tried to do whatever they can to prevent it.
But, sadly, they often still experience homelessness.
That’s why I’m thankful to have partners like you. You look beyond a person’s circumstance and say, “How can I help?”
The path out of homelessness isn’t easy. There are no shortcuts.
But your compassion helps share God’s love and encourages someone like Sandra as they work to build a new life, off the streets for good.
“He gives justice to the oppressed and food to the hungry. . . The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.” – Psalm 146:7-8
