An Evening of Story, Song and Vision.

On a dark night in November, community leaders gathered at one of the warehouses egm is resurrecting into our expanded shelter. It was a moving evening, filled with hope and light.

CEO John Hull shared inspiration with the artistic duo, Over the Rhine; they blessed us with the music and story behind egm’s theme song, “All My Favorite People Are Broken.” Together we reflected on how God makes beauty out of brokenness, both with people and spaces.

Our goal was to surprise and inspire people. Specifically, to share plans that warrant the city’s initial $4M investment, and invite the broader community to imagine involvement. Together we can all help bring the vision to fruition, caring even better for even more people!

We invited participants to share what impacted them and are encouraged by the responses.

Many noted how powerful it was to see in person the StepUp Beds that EGM created.

We’re excited to showcase these innovations more broadly, knowing the new shelter model will change the paradigm, just as StepUp Beds have. For those who would like a tour in the near future: Plans are in the works that will highlight the same meaningful song.
