As Easter approaches, I keep thinking about how hard it is to imagine hope when you’re in the middle of pain.
When everything feels like the disappointment and failure of Good Friday, it’s difficult to believe that resurrection could really be coming.
I see that reality every day at the Mission. Many of the men and women who walk through our doors are living in that space – tired, wounded and unsure if tomorrow can truly be different.
That’s why Easter matters so much.
And it’s why our new building expansion is being designed the way it is. It might be more complex, but when every room and space is conducive to men and women experiencing that resurrection hope in their own lives, it will be worth the investment.
Easter reminds us that God does His most beautiful work in moments that look like defeat. That light truly does break through darkness, and new life is possible – even when it feels out of reach.
Because of partners like you, no one has to face that darkness alone. Your prayers, support and compassion help us walk alongside people until they can begin to see hope for themselves.
Together, you and I get to reflect the love of Jesus and remind our hurting neighbors that Friday is not the end of the story.
Happy Easter. He is risen.
