John joined the Everett Gospel Mission (EGM) in 2006 as the Director of Development working to advance the mission of EGM in our community. In 2011 he made a move into direct services as the director of EGM’ Men’s Shelter and Day Center. In that role, John gained front line insight into the development and operations of life-changing programing for residents at the shelter as well as services to the men and women of Snohomish County who happen to find themselves sleeping without a roof every night. In 2016, John moved back into an administrative role as the director of Strategic Initiatives. There he assists the CEO in the development of strategic growth initiatives and shepherds the implementation of those initiatives that support EGM’s work in alleviation poverty specifically through community engagement. Of interest to John are the many opportunities to train and facilitate learning in his community. He is one of the first certified Faith & Finance Facilitators in Washington State and Co-facilitator of EGM’s highly sought-after Poverty 101 workshops. These trainings allow him to combine some of his greatest life passions: faith, money, relationships and helping others more effectively serve Christ with all their heart through a deeper understanding of the interdependence of those life spheres. John and his wife, Sandi, live in Everett with their six kids. He enjoys camping around the many beautify sites of the Pacific Northwest with family and friends.
