EGM Engages with the Community to Alleviate Poverty

Through relational poverty alleviation we provide safety, support and training for individuals to transition from poverty and homelessness into sustainable, healthy lives.

From our CEO

"We always have been and always will be committed to honoring the Lord by helping those who are most in need.”

- John Hull, Everett Gospel Mission, CEO

Our Values

Transformation, Mutuality & Safety

Safety is foundational among EGM’s values. When we experience safety, we are more likely to be open, honest, and vulnerable, leading to better communication, collaboration, and overall well-being. Safety in all forms is key to creating a context for mutuality and transformation.

Safety

Emotional, Spiritual, Physical & Relational Safety are essential for Transformation.

Mutuality

Who is transformation for? Everyone! We acknowledge the inherent worth of every individual, recognizing their equal value in the eyes of Christ.

Transformation

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Founded in Faith

Innovating since 1961

Everett Gospel Mission began with a mission to help men trapped in homelessness find a place of refuge where they could rebuild their lives.

As the needs of our community have changed, so has our approach. We’ve adapted and innovated to meet the changing faces and staggering needs of those experiencing poverty, addiction, homelessness and hunger.

Today we are the largest faith-based poverty alleviation organization in Snohomish County. We are the only organization to provide emergency shelter for single men, the largest shelter provider for single women, and we have a dedicated shelter for families.

We are a faith-based organization that offers yet does not require religious engagement. We combine spiritual, scientific and social service expertise, for Trauma Informed Care and Healing Centered transformation.
