MEETING EVERYDAY NEEDS THROUGH THE HEN PROGRAM

Sometimes the smallest necessities can make the biggest difference.

The HEN (Housing and Essential Needs) program provides practical support to people in our community who are facing serious challenges. Qualified individuals receive essential personal products that many of us take for granted. These items include toilet paper, shampoo and other basic supplies that cannot be purchased with SNAP/Basic Food assistance, leaving our neighbors struggling to make ends meet.

The program also provides gas cards that help people travel to work, important appointments and service locations.

Everett Gospel Mission is the only location in Snohomish County where neighbors can receive these benefits; yet as costs increase, so does the number of people in need.

For Kyle, who helps run the program, the most meaningful moment often comes when he hands someone a gas card.

“Just about everybody smiles,” he says.

Because of partners like you, practical help and a moment of encouragement are available to people who need it most.
